Assignment:
This week, you will divide into pairs, with each pair assigned one of the following questions/statements. Your job will be to research the topics (in the textbook primarily), and present your findings and opinions to the remainder of the class in a four or five minute presentation. Both members of your team must speak. In your presentations, you should:
i) Define/describe any key terms or concepts
ii) Identify the two sides to the issue
iii) State an opinion
iv) Give an example (or examples) to support your opinion
The rest of the class should listen closely and take notes as appropriate. You will then be asked to argue the other side by giving a counter-example (if possible) or by pointing out why you (respectfully) disagree with the example provided by the presenters. The presenters are quite welcome to defend their positions.
